Potomac Hospital Foundation Names 2008 Endowment Fund Scholarship Recipients

Woodbridge, Va. For the 18th consecutive year, Potomac Hospital Foundation has awarded educational scholarships of up to $4,000 each to deserving area high school students who wish to pursue a career in healthcare.

Students are selected based on general academic ability, personal characteristics, academic record, extra-curricular activities and citizenship and community interest. The Potomac Hospital Foundation Endowment Fund Scholarships provide financial support to exceptional Prince William County high school seniors who will study pre-medicine, nursing or a health-related subject in college.

The following students have been awarded Potomac Hospital Foundation’s 2008 Endowment Fund Scholarships:   

Robert MacGregor, Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, received Potomac Hospital Foundation’s Endowment Fund Scholarship for those studying healthcare in college. Robert will pursue his degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Virginia this fall. He will receive $1,000 for his first year of enrollment and $500 per year for the next three years of enrollment.

Katrina Brown, Forest Park High School, was also awarded the Endowment Fund Scholarship for those studying healthcare in college. In the fall she will begin her college career at the University of Virginia where she’ll major in Kinesiology.

Avani Bharucha, Gar-Field High School, was awarded the Endowment Fund Scholarship for those pursuing a degree in nursing. Avani will study nursing at Virginia Commonwealth University in the fall. She will receive $1,000 per year for up to four years of enrollment.
